Aston Villa Winger Samuel Iling Junior examines possible loan options before the transfer deadline.

Iling-Junior signed with Juventus in July next to Enzo Barrenechea for a total transfer fee of €22 million, but both were not included in Villa’s squad for the first matchday Premier League Venue at West Ham United.

Iling Junior has featured in Villa’s friendlies and although the 20-year-old can play in a number of positions, including left-back and left wing-back, he has been used primarily as a left-back number 10 by manager Unai Emery.

Villa has competition for the places in this position, with Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Rogers, Emiliano Buendia And John McGinn all used by Emery previously in this role.

The England youth international and U19 European Championship winner is looking for regular playing time, which Villa sees as an opportunity to accelerate his development.

Therefore, a loan of Iling-Junior will be examined before the end of the transfer period, similar to Lewis Dobbinof Everton this summer before joining West Brom on loan for the rest of the season.

However, borrowing Iling-Junior is only possible if the right opportunity arises.

Last season, Iling-Junior played 27 games for Juventus, starting six times and coming on as a substitute in 20 of the 34 match days he played in. However, he played the full 90 minutes in the last two games of the season.
