Kliff Kingsbury reveals his thoughts on the Jahan Dotson trade
On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles strengthened their already strong roster by trading three 2025 draft picks to the Washington Commanders in exchange for wide receiver Jahan Dotson.
Even though Dotson isn’t a star, he should give the Eagles something they needed: a threat as a third wide receiver.
On the other hand, Kliff Kingsbury, the Commanders’ new offensive coordinator, said he wishes Dotson the best, adding, according to JP Finlay, that he is happy with his team’s current wide receiver situation.

The Commanders selected Dotson with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2022 draft after a successful tenure at Pennsylvania State University. In his two years with them, he caught 84 passes for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Now he goes from a rebuilding team to a team that has at least an outside chance of winning the Super Bowl.
Washington currently has some hope for the future thanks to rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, the No. 2 pick in April’s draft, who was named the Washington Nationals’ starter earlier this week.
With Terry McLaurin, they have an established and reliable threat at the wide receiver position and hope that young talents like rookie Luke McCaffrey will develop into an additional threat.
McCaffrey is the younger brother of Christian McCaffrey, the star running back of the San Francisco 49ers. During his time at Rice University in Texas, he recorded 71 catches for 992 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
Washington also signed veteran dual-threat running back Austin Ekeler, formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers, and hopes he still has plenty left in the tank at age 29.
