Australia dominated England in the first ODI in Nottingham, Travis Head showed his strength

Travis Head gave another stellar performance in Australia’s victory against England in the first ODI at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Head’s brilliant form helped the visiting Australian team to dominate the ODI series by winning by seven wickets. The Australian opener led the team to victory with his brilliant innings and he performed brilliantly in Nottingham as well. After England set the target, Australia achieved the target easily thanks to Travis’ innings and won the match easily chasing 315 runs.

Travis Head breaks England fans’ hearts as Australia win over England at Trent Bridge

It didn’t take long for Travis Head to continue his brilliant form in England and he continued his explosive form in the ODI series as well. Not only did he help Australia to victory, but Travis also set a record for the highest ODI innings by an Australian batsman with a stormy innings of 154 runs. The visiting team chased down the target set by England efficiently.

Harry Brook-led England opted to bat first, with Ben Duckett and Will Jacks setting the pace while Phil Salt lost his wicket early. Jacks scored 62 while Duckett made 95, stand-in captain Brook and Jamie Smith made 39 and 23 respectively. But the English were bowled out for 315 in 49.4 overs. If Australia’s batting stood out, another star of the visiting team was Marnus Labuschagne who took three wickets to his name. Also, it was a memorable day for Adam Zampa as he played his 100th ODI and registered figures of 10-1-49-3 in the entire match.

For Australia, Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head shared a crucial 148-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Marnus scored 77 off 61 balls and Head’s record-breaking innings helped Australia win big at Trent Bridge.

Australia now lead the ODI series by 1-0. England will look to rally and make a comeback when the two teams face off in the second ODI at Headingley, Leeds.
