Bengaluru FC renews its rivalry with Kerala Blasters when the two sides face off in the final quarter-final of the 2024 Durand Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Friday night. Gerard Zaragoza and Mikael Stahre, as head coaches of these two clubs, will be looking to take another step towards their first trophy as the winners of this match will face a possible semi-final against Mohun Bagan Super Giant.

Bengaluru and the Blasters both remained undefeated in the group stages, topping their respective groups. Bengaluru won all three of their matches, while the Blasters won two and drew one against Punjab FC. Ultimately, the Blasters topped the group on goal difference, but Punjab also qualified as one of the two best second-placed teams in the competition.

Bengaluru, meanwhile, are yet to concede a goal and have comfortably beaten Indian Navy, Inter Kashi and Mohammedan Sporting. Jorge Pereyra Diaz has settled in quickly at his third Indian club, while Alberto Noguera and Sunil Chhetri both made important contributions in the group stages, the latter despite not starting a single game.

The Blasters were a team built around Noah Sadaoui and Kwame Peprah, with Adrian Luna pulling the strings, as they claimed convincing wins over young Mumbai City FC reserves and the Indian Air Force, and were held to a 1-1 draw by Punjab.
