Bernard Tomic was bizarrely ejected from the stands of an ATP Challenger event in the Dominican Republic for allegedly booing the player who knocked him out in the quarterfinals two days earlier.

The former world number ten was eliminated from a tournament in Santo Domingo against Andres Andrade in two sets with 6:2 and 6:2, but refused to shake the Ecuadorian’s hand after the match.

After Andrade reached the final against Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tomic returned to the venue wearing a cap and glasses.

The Australian reportedly even moved around the stadium between matches to ensure he was always at the same end as Andrade.

After an argument between Dzumhur and the referee, Tomic intervened and spoke to the referee from the edge of the pitch.

Andrade complained to the referee about Tomic’s behavior. The 31-year-old was confronted by tournament officials at the beginning of the second set and asked to leave the court while the crowd cheered this decision.

Dzumhur, reportedly a friend of Tomic, won the final 6:4, 6:4.

Since 2019, the former child prodigy is no longer in the world’s top 100 and has slipped to 250th place in the rankings.

He was also involved in drama at a tournament in Arkansas in June when he retired mid-game after getting into an argument with his girlfriend in the stands.
