Briton Stevie Williams won the 2024 Tour of Britain, while Matevz Govekar took the sixth and final stage of the race.

The 28-year-old Welshman Williams, who won stages two and three, secured victory in 21 hours, 25 minutes and 14 seconds. His British compatriot Oscar Onley finished second, 16 seconds behind.

Stage six was a 158.4km ride from Lowestoft to Felixstowe and ended on a thrilling note with Slovenian Govekar of Bahrain Victorious winning a sprint ahead of Denmark’s Rasmus Pedersen and Britain’s Ben Swift.

Paul Magnier wanted to equal the record of four stage wins in the same Tour of Britain, but the Frenchman, together with Briton Tom Pidcock, had to abandon the last stage about 35 km from the finish.
