Colin Cowherd makes a brave observation about Lamar Jackson despite defeat
The NFL has officially kicked off its 2024 season with the reigning Super Bowl champions Kansas City Chiefs playing against Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
There was a lot of excitement leading up to this game as it was a highly anticipated clash between two heavyweights who had already faced each other in the AFC Championship Game last season.
Although the Ravens were completely outplayed by Patrick Mahomes and Co. in last season’s playoff game, the season’s opener was a different story. The two powerhouses traded blows all night long, culminating in an epic finale that included a touchdown catch being reviewed in the end zone.
Unfortunately for the Ravens, things didn’t end up going in their favor, as the Chiefs were able to take the win after Isaiah Likely’s last-second catch was ruled not a touchdown because it was out of bounds.
Despite the loss to Kansas City, Baltimore looked set to contend for the title this season, and commentator Colin Cowherd had high praise for Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“Lamar Jackson makes other great pro football players look slow and unathletic,” Cowherd said of The Volume. “Lamar Jackson is so productive. He’s so dedicated. … So you can sell all your Ravens stock. I’m buying it.”

Jackson is coming off one of the best seasons of his NFL career, dominating the competition week after week and winning his second MVP award.
However, he seemed to be exposed by the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, and many wondered if he would ever be able to win a big game in the postseason.
Only time will tell if Jackson has what it takes when the Ravens need him most, but Baltimore will be a team to keep an eye on again this season.
