Former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Subramaniam Badrinath has backed MS Dhoni to continue captaining the franchise as long as he plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In an exclusive conversation with InsideSport, Badrinath expressed his belief that Dhoni’s presence on the field is irreplaceable and he should remain at the top even if he is playing a reduced role.

Dhoni, who has been the cornerstone of CSK’s success, handed over the captaincy to Ruturaj Gaikwad ahead of the IPL 2024 season. In fact, this happened on the eve of the start of IPL 2024.
