Explosives ‘found’ near Donald Trump rally after two assassination attempts: report
Washington: Explosives were found near the former US president’s home, reports said on Wednesday. Lalino said Wednesday evening that the rally site’s “perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed.”
According to Lalino the source said, “Nobody saw if he had anything or not, they just saw him running. There are a lot of cars parking now, they’re lined up on Hempstead Turnpike, just parking on the grass. Even at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking right there.” The incident occurred while thousands of people were waiting in line to attend the event.
However, according to the Nassau County Police Commissioner, reports of explosives being found at the Trump Long Island rally site are “unfounded.”
Trump survived two assassination attempts
Trump has been aggressively campaigning for the upcoming presidential election and has been attending mostly indoor events since the first attack on him in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
He was shot in the right ear by assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks after he heard gunfire at a rally held that summer. The attacker, Thomas Matthew Crooks, died on the spot.
Two months later, a gunman pointed an AK-47 at the former president while he was playing at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach on Sunday. The Republican candidate was moved to a safe location as Secret Service agents opened fire on the suspect, who was carrying a GoPro camera and backpack, as well as his rifle.
Trump on Sunday thanked the U.S. Secret Service and other law enforcement officials following an assassination attempt while he was golfing at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. The former president was unharmed in the incident, which the FBI described as an “attempted assassination” while he was golfing, two months after another assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.
“The work that was done was absolutely outstanding,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
The presidential candidate said, “I want to thank all of you for your concern and well wishes – it was certainly an interesting day! Most importantly, I want to thank the US Secret Service, Sheriff Rick Bradshaw and his office of courageous and dedicated patriots, and all the law enforcement agencies who did an incredible job today at Trump International to keep me, the 45th President of the United States and the Republican nominee in the upcoming presidential election, safe.”
