Gardner Minshew reveals his thoughts on being named starter
Only a few weeks left until the start of the NFL season and Antonio Pierce, head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, has finally made his decision.
It wasn’t easy and definitely not pretty, but he finally picked his starting quarterback.
Gardner Minshew will take the reins on offense, with Aidan O’Connell as his replacement.
And while some people may not be so thrilled about it, he is clearly over the moon about this opportunity.
When asked for his thoughts on his role as a starter, the Washington State player said he was very excited about the team, adding that everyone was on the same page and firmly believed they could win at the highest level (via Sean Zittel & Vegas Sports Today).
“I’m so happy for this team. I think everyone in the locker room senses how special we can be… it’s all about winning.”

Despite his charisma, Minshew has proven on several occasions that he may not be suited to be a regular starter in the National Football League.
He is one of the best backups a team could ask for, both in terms of leadership and talent.
In fairness, with him at the helm, the Indianapolis Colts remained in the playoffs and in the division for most of last season when Anthony Richardson suffered an injury.
The Raiders are a defensive-minded, combative and tough team that will try to win games on offense.
They shouldn’t rely on Minshew as much as other teams.
Moreover, this experiment could be short-lived because even if he performs well this season, the team could try to find a once and for all alternative for the future in the draft or free agency.
