Noah Lyles responds to Tyreek Hill’s challenge: ‘Everybody wants to race with the ‘fastest man”

Tyreek Hill asked Noah Lyles to race him and after days of drama and preparation, the track and field athlete was asked if he would take Hill’s challenge seriously. The 100-meter gold medalist responded to the challenge in an interview with ESPN on Wednesday.

“I mean, the two scenarios are different, you know, one is related to human rights (on Hill’s controversial arrest) and the other is related to sports. But, yeah, I mean, nobody should have to go through what, you know, he went through, no matter what the circumstances are. You know. You know, we’re all human beings, and we should be treated that way,” Noah Lyles said.

He further added, “But, you know, in terms of racing, you know, look, man, you have to be serious. Everybody wants to jump to the top. Everybody wants to run with the fastest guy. I didn’t win this title because it’s easy or because I took the easy route.”

The whole matter started when Lyles caused a stir by saying that last year’s Super Bowl winners weren’t actually world champions. Lyles responded to this by claiming on Kay Adams’ show that he could beat Lyles in a race, but the 100m athlete replied by saying that he didn’t remember Tyreek’s full name.

“Who’s that cheetah guy in football? I can’t remember his name. Mark! Who’s that football player that thinks he’s fast? His name is Tyreek Hill,” Lyles said.

After so much drama between these two global superstars, it is highly unlikely that fans will actually see these two compete with each other to settle the score.
