Odds, predictions, tips for Week 3 of the 2024 NFL preseason: Bet on the Colts, underdog Bills

bdixlivetvAugust 21, 2024

If you thought: “This Black If you think “The guy is crazy about finding preseason bets in Week 1 and Week 2,” you may be right because I’m back with even more bets for Week 3.

There are 16 games left NFL preseason schedule and each team gets another opportunity to get on the field before the regular season begins on September 5th in City.

Week 3 is the most difficult of the schedule, as almost no regular players will be on the field, so we’ll be evaluating the games based on substitutes and motivation.

With that in mind, let’s motivate ourselves to win some money with my three best bets for the weekend.

All times ET

Thursday, August 22

Indianapolis Colts @ Cincinnati Bengals (8pm, Prime Video)

Indianapolis seems to have preseason interest, but is playing a team that doesn’t. The Colts scored 30 points (in a loss) and 21 points in a win last weekend.

Head coach Shane Steichen announced that the starters will play against the Bengals. While this announcement should always be taken with a grain of salt, it is further evidence that the Colts are trying to win in the preseason.

Steichen is in charge of Indy’s offense, but in the preseason he lets other coaches run the offense in Colts games. At the end of the day, those coaches are always trying to move the ball forward and score points.

This week they face the Bengals, who seem to be the opposite of the Colts. Cincinnati just doesn’t care about the results of those games. The Bengals have lost 17-14 and 27-3, even though their offense barely has a pulse anymore.

TIP: Colts (-6.5) win by more than 6.5 points

Who will win the AFC North: Cleveland Browns, Ravens or Bengals?

Saturday, August 24

Carolina Panthers @ Buffalo Bills (1pm)

The Carolina Panthers have played two preseason games without a starter on the field. They played both games with a backup quarterback Andy DaltonAnd even though he has a thigh injury, he has been playing and training.

Not surprisingly, the Panthers’ offense was absent in two games. Carolina scored three points against the Patriots and only 12 against the NozzlesThe 12th goal also came about by chance, as the Panthers did not attempt a two-minute drill, but still scored with a run.

The Bills aren’t playing their regulars on Saturday, but that shouldn’t matter much. Their team is stronger than the Panthers’ and Sean McDermott is a coverage machine in the preseason. He has covered over 60% of the preseason games he has coached.

TIP: Bills (+4) lose by less than 4 points (or win directly)

Who will win the AFC East: Buffalo Bills or New York Jets?

New York Giants @ New York Jets (7:30 p.m., NFL Network)

There are two types of teams this preseason. There are teams that care about the games – like the Chiefs And Bears who played as regulars and seemed to create the game plan for their opponents. And then there are teams like the Jets who would rather do something else.

The Jets did not play quarterback Aaron Rodgerswhich is not so new. He did not play in a NYJ uniform at all in the preseason. The Jets, however, played Thomas Taylor – their backup quarterback – had only one possession in the first two games.

They have scored 20 points and 15 points in their two games with substitutes. They play against the New York Giants, who beat the Texan and still couldn’t score. The Giants have scored three points and ten points in two preseason games. Their roster is not strong and once the substitutes are on the field, they can’t move the ball on offense.

This fight for New York is going to be ugly, so I’m giving the under.

TIP: Less than 31.5 points from both teams together
