Paul Pierce describes mood at an NFL team as “shaky”
The Kansas City Chiefs may be two-time defending Super Bowl champions with an improved roster, but that doesn’t mean their quest for an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl victory will be easy in the slightest.
There are two or three teams in the AFC that have a real chance to topple the Chiefs come playoff time, and one of those teams is the last team stopping the Chiefs from getting to the Super Bowl.
The Cincinnati Bengals have reached the big game in the 2021 season and hope to get back on track in the fall after an injury-plagued 2023 season.
However, they are currently dealing with some drama in the form of the contract dispute with star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and this prompted former NBA player Paul Pierce to say on an episode of “Speak” on Fox Sports 1 that “the mood in Cincinnati is shaky.”

Chase has missed practice at times over the past few weeks, and his status for Sunday’s season-opening game remains uncertain at the time of this writing.
Pierce also mentioned the wrist injury that ended quarterback Joe Burrow’s season early last November and questioned whether it had fully healed.
If Cincinnati is healthy both physically and emotionally, they should at least pose a serious challenge to Patrick Mahomes and his team.
But a team can’t win a World Cup unless everyone is focused on the same goal and puts individual interests aside. And you have to ask yourself whether the Bengals aren’t a band with a unified sound at the moment.
