Lewandowski has been one of Europe’s most successful goalscorers for over a decade and has dominated the Bundesliga, especially during his time at Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich.

With such an incredible career filled with numerous accomplishments, FOX Sports Research decided to summarize the best moments of his career.

Let’s take a look:

The five best moments in Robert Lewandowski’s career

Incredible 2020-21 season

  • Lewandowski’s legacy as one of the best players of his generation was cemented during his outstanding 2020/21 season with Bayern Munich. With 41 goals, he broke the Bundesliga record for most goals in a season, surpassing a record that stood for almost 50 years (Gerd Müller). That season, he scored in 25 of 29 league games and won both the Ballon d’Or for striker of the year and the European Golden Shoe – the latter goes to the top scorer in all of Europe’s top leagues.

Wins Champions League and Triple

  • There is no doubt that Lewandowski is a sure-fire winner. He won eight Bundesliga titles with Bayern Munich, as well as three DFB-Pokals and five DFB-Supercups. However, his 2019/20 season was the most notable as he clinched the coveted European treble. That season, he led a Bayern Munich side that won the Bundesliga title, DFB-Pokal and UEFA Champions League. He was the top scorer in each of those competitions (55 goals in 47 games) and is the only player in German history to achieve that feat.

Five goals in nine minutes against Wolfsburg

  • With this incredible “super-sub” performance, Lewandowski brought Bayern Munich back from a 1-0 half-time deficit in 2015. He scored an incredible five goals in nine minutes in the 51st, 52nd, 55th, 57th and 60th minutes. He set records for the most goals by a sub in the Bundesliga (five), the fastest Bundesliga hat-trick (three minutes and 22 seconds) and the fastest five-goal success (eight minutes and 59 seconds) in a Bundesliga match.

Leaves a lasting impression in his first season at Barcelona

  • Lewandowski had dominated the Bundesliga at two different clubs, but the move to Barcelona was supposed to be a new challenge for him. In his first season there in the 2022/23 season, the then 34-year-old passed the test with flying colors and was the league’s top scorer with 23 goals in 34 games. In his first two seasons there, he scored 59 goals in 95 games (all competitions) for the Spanish top team.

Becomes Poland’s all-time top scorer

  • A true test of a football superstar is whether he can replicate his club’s success at national team level and that is exactly what Lewandowski has done. He was named captain in 2013 and on 5 October 2017 he became Poland’s all-time top scorer. He scored a hat-trick against Armenia to reach 50 goals, surpassing Włodek Lubański’s record of 48. Lewandowski’s current tally is 83. He has also scored 10 goals in 14 matches.
