India vs Sanctions: It was a cloudy morning in Chennai, Bangladesh Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first in the first Test match being played at Chepauk on Thursday. Bangladeshi captain Nazmul Shanto claimed that he feels the track has juice and will help his bowlers and that is why he took this decision, but what is surprising is that India is playing with three fast bowlers at the iconic Chepauk. The Chepauk pitch is traditionally favorable to spinners and so the Indian captain’s decision at the toss seems a bit surprising. But again, if you think about it, it makes a lot of sense considering the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held later in the year. In Australia, India will play a five-match Test series which will be part of the World Test Championship cycle.

Moreover, it also needs to be understood that this Test match is the start of the new home season and hence India would want to chalk out a blueprint immediately.

The three fast bowlers that India have fielded are Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj and Akashdeep. The two spinners are Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin.

“We came here a week ago, we prepared well for this match. We are confident. Three fast bowlers and two spinners – Bumrah, Akashdeep, Siraj, Ashwin and Jadeja,” Rohit said at the toss.
