Tom Brady names the five best quarterbacks in the NFL
After a legendary 23-year career in which he established himself as the overall best player in NFL history, Tom Brady has retired and is now preparing for his second appearance as co-commentator on NFL on Fox.
He will be part of Fox’s top broadcast team, commentating on the games alongside Kevin Burkhardt, and there are signs that he will be very successful in his new job.
Brady was asked who he thinks are the top five quarterbacks in the NFL right now (with Patrick Mahomes as No. 1) and he named Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, and he seemed to agree with Smith that Aaron Rodgers is on that list as well.
Almost everyone agrees that Mahomes is currently the best quarterback in the league, and with three Super Bowl victories in the last five years and two in the last two, he is quickly climbing the list of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
Allen and Burrow regularly appear on current lists of the best quarterbacks, but for different reasons.
While Allen is an excellent dual-threat signal-caller who scored a whopping 15 rushing touchdowns last year, Burrow always remains cool and collected under all circumstances.
Jackson, like Allen, is an outstanding dual-threat QB and won his second league MVP award in 2023 while leading the Baltimore Ravens to the best record in all of football.
Rodgers is an interesting choice as he was named MVP two years in a row in 2020 and 2021, but is recovering from a torn Achilles sustained in Week 1 of last season.
He has 15 years of experience as a starting quarterback in the NFL, so many are skeptical about whether he can still play at a high level, although some seem to believe he will be good enough to lead the New York Jets to victory.
