Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh) (India), Sep 18 (ANI): Tibetan spiritual leader, 14th Dalai Lama participated in the long life prayer offered for him by the alumni of Tibetan Women’s Association (TWA), CST Dalhousie and Lhasa districts.

More than five thousand Tibetans, including foreigners from different parts of the world, gathered here at the main Tibetan temple, Tsuglagkhang, and prayed for the long life of the Dalai Lama.

Tibetans are very happy and delighted to be a part of this event today. Tashi Palmo, an official of TWA, said, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for every Tibetan, and I feel very good and honored to be here.”

“I feel very happy and blessed, as this is a memorable day for me,” Tenzin Yingsel, a TWA official, said.

CST Dalhousie alumnus and Chairman Tibetan Public Service Commission, Karma Yeshi told ANI, “Today the Tibetan Women’s Association, CST Dalhousie alumni and Lhasa community are praying for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and people from all over the world have gathered here. This is a very important event for all of us.”

Recently, the Dalai Lama delivered a one-day general teaching to around 5000 people including Tibetans and other citizens at the monastery in Dharamshala on Thursday morning.

This teaching session was held at the main Tibetan temple of Tsuglagkhang Monastery, at the request of a group of South-East Asians.

Around 5000 people including Tibetans, Indians and Buddhist followers from different parts of the world gathered to attend the spiritual discourse.

Theravada monks chanted mantras at the beginning of the teaching. The Dalai Lama spoke about the importance of peace, love and compassion.

The participants said they felt privileged and blessed to be a part of the event. (ANI)
